Day Four

 Butterfly Bay to Cateran Bay

Day-Four

With three of us well rested and one still a bit sleepy we decided to look a little closer at our copy of “100 Magic Miles” placed on board by the marina and found that a bay on the northern end of Boarder Island gave excellent protection from all but the worst northern wind and seas and it also had a good beach for Andrew to sleep on if he could still hear the slosh of the fresh water.

On our way we had to make a detour as on of our hats went overboard it would be a good exercise in retrieval and we had the dingy to help us, we were lucky the hat was on board again when we spotted another reason to circle around a bit more, some whales had come to play and they amused us for some time, when we realised that it was time to head for our anchorage, upon arrival we noticed a free mooring buoy we could use for the night, we also spotted another boat whose crew did not look experienced coming into the bay, I mentioned to Col, who do you prefer at anchor us who knew how to anchor or an inexperienced crew who may or may not have know, we set the anchor that night.

Once the anchor was set we again went for a swim and then went ashore, I actually swam ashore the other joined me in the dingy. We explored as much as we could and it was a good place to see the whole area.

That night we all slept well.
