Guangzhou
The final part of my trip, Sophia arranged to meet me when I arrived back at Shenzhen North station to join me on my short trip to Guangzhou, originally Kyra was also to join us but due to work commitments she did not come
Once in Guangzhou Sophia arranged Metro tickets and we proceeded to my hotel, (Sophia had booked another cheaper hotel not far from mine), and after a few false starts we arrived at an near by metro station, and almost got lost, we finally reached the hotel, and I settled in, and we arranged to meet with Rosa someone with whom both Sophia and I had been in contact with for a number of years but neither had met face to face, Rosa was one of the people who arranged a business letter of invitation for me to be able to obtain a business Visa.
A short time later the three of us went by taxi to dinner than an evening stroll near the Pearl River enjoying each other’s company and photographing the Guangzhou Tower, before each of us going our own way and retiring for the night.
In the morning Sophia again met me at my hotel and we planned the day as my luck would have it, it was RAINING yet again so I did not take my camera, Foolish me! We did not take the Metro this time but used a taxi to take us the Chen Clan Institute the traditional family home of the Chan family now being used as a museum this was a fascinating place to visit not only for the buildings themselves but also the craftsmen and women who work there, like the person painting on the inside of glass jars, and the person creating paintings with only the palms and fingernails of his hands using just black ink
Leaving here we had some lunch then proceeded to an older part of town with traditional style buildings and where we were to meet CY or as I call her C heek Y because that is what she is, we then proceeded to Yuexiu park before joining CY family for dinner. My farewell dinner in China
