Fowlers Bay
After taking Andy and Kyra to the airport for their flight I spent the rest of the day re-organising the van for the next part of the trip, with a stop at Fowlers Bay, this has a corrugated road in from the eastern end, (time to buy a compressor and tyre deflators I think before I shake the van apart).
This like so many of the small coastal town is a mecca for recreational fishermen, and again almost booked out
Fowlers Bay (Port Eyre) also played a part in opening up this part of the country being positioned to allow the import and export of goods to the area and it was also a link in the early telegraph. A vital communication tool.
to my detriment I ignored advice to retrace my steps when leaving and proceeded through Coorabie, BIG MISTAKE, as while it was an interesting drive and much shorter it took much longer as the corrugations on this road made the road in look like the grader had just finished grading the road so my speed was real slow (Now where was that compressor??)
This was my last stop before the real crossing started
