My biggest mistake with this visit was not to refuel the day before and thinking as it was midweek the ferry wait would be short.

I refuelled that morning and proceeded to Kettering from Huonville, and when we arrived the queue for the ferry was already an hour long this cut into our day trio significantly and I realised the return ferry wait could also be an hour OUCH add to that most tourist attractions in Tasmania tend to close around 4PM, as a result we only had a rushed visit to the south end of the island.

The lesson here be prepared to stay at least 2 or even 3 nights on the island to be able to experience the full beauty of the place
