A Quick Trip
Carol and I were invited to attend a wedding when we were in China in 2017. The wedding was to be held just after the Spring Festival, this we would both have been able to attend and were looking forward to, but it was for a number of reasons postponed, we were a little disappointed.
Later in the year I was informed it would take place during the National Holidays in October, a difficult time for Carol to take off, so I accepted for just myself and booked a quick one week trip.
Nothing goes smoothly for this couple and just before I was to leave Australia too late to cancel the wedding again was called off due to family politics and the mounting costs (the bride is acutely cost conscious) while the bride and groom are still together no wedding!
Not being able to cancel my trip without losing money I decided to go ahead so confirmed with my friends with whom I would stay I was on the way.
It was up to them where and what we would do noting that the roads at this time could be very slow moving traffic jams, for those who have travelled back into Sydney from the north at the end of the Christmas School holidays and been stuck in the M1 have seen nothing compared to a Chinese Traffic Jam
See below
Still there were a few surprises a short trip making sure we were back before the rush back to town followed by some other local activities and dinners
