Cockle Creek Trip

The first trip once we were set up in Southport and exploring the very local area of Southport was to head as far south as we could through Moss Glen and Catamaran and on to Cockle Creek and the Whale Statue from here I wanted to take the walk further south to Fishers Point but a little thing like being in a “National Park” meant that we would need to leave Mon Chéri locked up in the car for at least 2 hours, add to this that the track should only be attempted if it could be completed at “Low Tide” as there was not a lot of track that was well defined above the high tide line and it was an incoming tide at the time we were there, we did not attempt it, nor did we plan to return later at an outgoing tide

We did however scout out some good free camps for the other group who were travelling Clockwise and preferred to free camp.
