The Plan
At the end of the trip to China Snow made a comment “I wonder if I can do Italy in a wheelchair” referring to the next trip Carol and I had planned for 2018 Marilyn’s Birthday trip. Carol explained that it was not to Italy but Spain, to which Snow asked if we were going to Granada. Carol said YES and Snow said OK Spain it is if Herman can push the wheelchair.
The planning had begun, the only fixed time would be when the birthday celebrations were to be held in Valencia, and the preference to visit Barcelona and a promise to go to Granada, but where else?
First decision is the journey to Barcelona, do we go via Singapore and stay there a day or two? Or do we go via Dubai for a short stay? Carol’s preference is to go to Singapore to revisit things she missed on her first visit BUT that means going to London before Spain as there is no direct flight. That means less time in Barcelona so the next option is explored Dubai for two nights with a direct flight into Barcelona, after a discussion with friends and a little research on Dubai, this was the option chosen, as it allowed us three nights in Barcelona before drive to Valencia for the Birthday Party in our hired car.

Five nights in Valencia before we drive to Cartagena, for another three nights.
Cartagena is where we start our real adventure with Snow we are on our own hoping that our Navman with local maps and the little research we did will get us through the trip.
From Cartagena we wonder through Granada, Malaga, leaving Spain going into Gibraltar, back into Spain going to Cadiz, Seville before leaving Spain and into Portugal for our final stop Lisbon before flying home
