Day One
Today was the last day we were on our own, later today we would need to go to the airport to meet Snow who was coming in from Sydney, but that was much later we had plenty of time to look around.
We crossed the road and river then walked back to an interesting bridge we say when we came from the train to the hotel, that turned out to be the Anshun Bridge, little is known about the initial building of this bridge downstream of Xinnanmen Bridge and it was said that in the 11th year of Qinlong in Qing Dynasty (1746), the head of Huayang County, An Hongde rebuilt the bridge as a wooden structure. However, four times the bridge was destroyed by flood and in 2002, a new bridge was relocated on the former site and renamed as “Anshun Gallery Bridge”.
On our way we went through an interesting little park dedicated to music with some interesting sculptures. Going past the bridge, we ended up at another cultural park which was also part of a temple complex.
Returning to the hotel we still had a little time so it was off to the market behind the hotel it was for pets, flowers and gardens
