Time with Friends

The day after the wedding Suzy was busy with her parents who had to return home that day, so Jennifer her friend and another of the bridesmaids offered to show me what they knew of Xiamen which unfortunately was limited as like me they were visitors, but at ;east they could speak the local language or at least a language that was common.

At first at was only Jennifer who spoke to me though I knew all the bridesmaids could speak English and I noticed that Jennifer’s friend was listening intently when I spoke but she did not have the confidence to speak that was to change and we had a good conversation about many things.

The day took us to a Cat Museum, through Xiamen University and on to the local beach before returning to an older part of town where they took me to have some “tasty  food” in all an enjoyable day as it also gave me time to renew my friendship with an young OLD friend. The reason Jennifer’s presence was a surprise to me was that she had just started he final year of a PHD degree as an Eye Doctor and I was informed she would have been too busy to attend. That did not shock me as during the 8 years she was at Uni communication was sporadic so this time was precious.
