Cobar G’Day Caravan Park

and

Why I feel it should be avoided

While when you drive into this park it looks like it is worthy of being visited, but do not be fooled the neat well kept grass as you enter and near the office is the full extent of the well kept lawn, everywhere else where grass exists it is full of nasty burrs do not walk bare footed across it.

The grass where we were put did not exist it was dust and 100% burrs and with a long haired dog that meant problems, so much so that she had to be shorn when we reached Dubbo as there were just too many burrs in between her toes for us to manage.

The amenities consisted of the usual ablutions blocks and a clean camp kitchen, No pool or play area for children YET the fees were for a premium caravan park, they were the 2nd dearest we had on this trip the only one dearer had way more facilities. Though the facilities were clean it is the first time I ever saw a sign asking guests to use a mop and bucket in the facilities and I believe in the ladies they were even asked to use the toilet brush, unheard of in other camps I have stayed at.

Forget drive through sites even if the site behind you is empty as they have placed barriers to prevent using that site as an entry (Luckily I can back my van), this caused problems though for a tow truck driver who picked up a broken down car towing a van now trucks are longer than cars and he requested a DRIVE THROUGH site ,he was given one he had to reverse into, but unlike public roads the access roads on private property are narrow, this caused him problems with lack of room to turn slowing him down and costing him money.

So much for a helpful reception, I hope this explains why it should be avoided!.
